Victorian Parlor Chair

What a find!  This chair originally belonged to a gentleman who inherited it from his grandmother.  It had been with his family since the 1930's. It's an oversized chair and having just moved into a small apartment, meant parting ways with it.  When I first saw it, I loved it and left with the promise to give her a new look and a good home.  For this classic piece, I decided to give  it a crisp and clean look with this off white herringbone fabric.  An elegant rope trimming was then added to complete this project. Accessorizing will be easy to do with it's neutral colors. This Victorian Carved Parlor Chair or Lady Chair features all the artisanship you would expect in such work of art.

Spanish Armchair

One of my favorite hotels and casinos in Las Vegas is the Green Valley Spa and Resort in Henderson, Nevada.   It's  a great home away from home and I believe is one of the best kept secrets of Vegas.  I've always been fascinated with an armchair very similar to this, which is available in the guest rooms, suites and throughout the lobby areas.  It's gorgeous and grand!  That inspired me to jump on the opportunity to work on this piece.  It's a beautifully carved armchair.  The details distinguishes this Spanish style chair.  I took it apart, gave it a brown mahogany finish and reupholstered it in a khaki canvas fabric.  Keeping the fabric simply and one color allows the carving and details to stand out.
